Private Collection for Sale
My collection
of four classic motor cars is for sale. Pictured below is my Hillman Super Imp with just
52,000 miles on the clock. The Imp is a two owner car with the first owner
buying the car new 2 September 1966. Very original, the imp drives very well
and looks amazing. Extremely original with everything working.
The
paperwork file with this car is awesome. I have the original bill of sale from
Bradbury’s Garage in Barmouth, Caernarvonshire and virtually everything
documented about the car since. The new price for the Imp was £575-14-10 less a
part exchange allowance of £240-0-0 for a traded in Austin Mini!
The
red car in the background is a BMW
318iS in remarkable condition,
rust
free and in brilliant condition, if you are in the market for an E30 then
this may well be the car for you. As a bonus surprise this one has undergone a
full M50 2.5 Straight Six engine conversion.
Previously
owned by a BMW Senior Technician who took superb care of the car and spent
in excess of 10k carrying out the conversion.
The
vehicle has been regularly wax oiled and is completely rust free, a rare
thing for an E30 these days.
The
M50 has been tuned and rolling road tested to produce 217 BHP. This car is so
drivable and can easily be used every day.
Fitted
with a stainless steel exhaust system with 3 exhaust boxes, 2 central and 1
rear the system the car is smooth at idle yet sounds amazing at full chat.
The
engine is a 2.5 M50 with Vanos and has been fitted with an M20 lightened
flywheel. The car is running a custom M30 air box with internal air mass
meter and sits on M6 engine mounts. It has a performance chip fitted to
the ECU and even the DME is fitted in the original stock position. The
conversion is of the highest quality and looks and drives like a factory
package. I have details of the original E34 525i that the engine was sourced
from.
The
car uses the original 318is gearbox but is fitted with an LSD and Z3 short
shift gear linkage. Steering wise the car is much more responsive and sharper
than a standard E30 as it is fitted with a BMW E46 clubsport steering rack and
has been poly bushed front and rear.
The
suspension is lowered and it is fitted with Bilstein B8's at the
front.
Other
details include a very rare BMW M-Tech 1 steering wheel, M-Tech side
skirts, stunning and unmarked 17" BBS style alloys with new tyres and
a HID light conversion.
The
brakes have an uprated master cylinder and servo, braided stainless brake lines
at the front and all of the brake lines have been renewed. The ABS system has
been retrofitted.
There
is a Toad immobiliser and a separate remote locking system.
In
car entertainment is a Kenwood head unit featuring blue tooth, IPod, AUX, CD,
and USB. The speakers are uprated and wired through cross overs.
The
car has an uncracked dash which is very rare in an E30 and the interior is
immaculate. The seats are the original 318iS Recaro's in immaculate condition
with unworn bolsters and no rips. The interior as a whole is very similar to
that of the standard E30 M3 models. It has original E30 horsehair floor mats,
unmarked black headlining and a fully functioning electric sunroof.
It
is finished inside with a new E46 5 speed gear knob, E36 window switches and an
original E30 on board computer with functioning exterior temp read out.
This
is a truly brilliant car and the pictures don't really do it justice. It
needs to be seen to be appreciated. A real head turner and rare on the road
these days, especially in this condition.
There
is a huge history file with the car. The receipts take up a whole box-file and
there are 3 fully stamped service books!! It is complete with the original book
pack, service books, manuals, lots of old MOT's, two keys, original build
specification sheets, rolling road print outs and much more.
The
conversion was carried out in April 2009.
The
Blue car (below) is the trade mark colour of a Renault
Clio Williams 2 in very smart condition (aside from needing a good
wash). It has a good history file and these cars are becoming much rarer as
time goes by with only c. 650 cars produced in right hand drive. The bodywork
is strong and the braking system has just been overhauled, hence the reason for
the dusty condition. New discs and pads were fitted to the front end.
The
interior of the car is extremely good and it drives like a Clio Williams
should. Recently named the best hot hatchback of all time.
At
the back is a 1968 1300cc Beetle in exceptional condition. A recent summer show
winner, the car is immaculate. Interior
is superb and the car longs for summer use.
All
four cars are for sale together or separately, although the last one standing
will almost certainly be retained by me for my ongoing personal use. They are
now for sale as I am in the process of losing my garage space and cannot keep
all four under cover.
Guideline

Hillman Super Imp £5,950.00
BMW 318iS £6,950,00
